It’s time to start another school year! I’ve been enjoying a few weeks of vacation (far, far from the internet), and am now rested, refreshed and ready to jump back in!!
For any of you who happen to live in the Wichita, Kansas area, I’d like to extend a special invitation for you to join me for a workshop next Friday evening, August 26th. I’ll be presenting a session titled “Throw Away Your Theory Books! Teaching Theory through Games & Movement” at the Wichita Metropolitan Music Teachers Association Fall Kick-off event. Here’s are program details:
In this hands-on session, Jennifer Fink will share TONS of fun and simple game ideas to spice up your lessons and help your students learn and reinforce theory objectives. Learn how to plan games into private and group lessons, and sail through an entire year of theory concepts without begging or bribing your students to complete theory workbooks. They’ll love the fun… and you’ll love the results!!
The evening will also include a presentation by Betty Todd Smith titled “You Like to Practice?? WHY??, and the unveiling of an exciting new rhythm resource by Wendy Stevens from ComposeCreate.com. If you’re in the area, you won’t want to miss it!!
(For all of you non-Kansans… don’t worry! I’ve been busy uploading several new resources to the website in preparation for this event, and will be sharing about them here soon!)
